Powerbook Damage

Looks like my 1.5GHz 15″ Aluminium PowerBook (bought in April ’04) isn’t the only one to suffer from weird “pitting” and other surface damage see: http://saladwithsteve.com/osx/2004/10/powerbook-pitting.html.

I’m about to buy an extended AppleCare contract and see if I can get Apple to repair it and other issues.

  • Apple replaced my Powerbook and returned it to me on Friday 29th October (I sent it off to them on the Wednesday, 3 day turn around - awesome!). They also fixed the hinge problem that I was experience (hinge was very tight and screen was difficult to open - this was causing damage to the screen/hinge join) and a small dent below the CD slot (originally they tried to charge me $600.00 for the case replacement but ended up doing it for free).

    Thanks Apple!
