Powerbook Damage

Looks like my 1.5GHz 15″ Aluminium PowerBook (bought in April ‘04) isn’t the only one to suffer from weird “pitting” and other surface damage see: http://saladwithsteve.com/osx/2004/10/powerbook-pitting.html.

I’m about to buy an extended AppleCare contract and see if I can get Apple to repair it and other issues.

Apple replaced my Powerbook and returned it to me on Friday 29th October (I sent it off to them on the Wednesday, 3 day turn around - awesome!). They also fixed the hinge problem that I was experience (hinge was very tight and screen was difficult to open - this was causing damage to the screen/hinge join) and a small dent below the CD slot (originally they tried to charge me $600.00 for the case replacement but ended up doing it for free).
