Spotlight Metadate Duplicate Finder

Wow. It’s been a while since I posted.

I’ve been working on a little Mac OS X Tiger only tool that uses Tiger’s Spotlight feature to find duplicate files using Spotlight metadata as the duplicate matching criteria.

This turns out to be a really powerful way of finding duplicate files no matter what the type. The same tool you’d use to find duplicate MP3s will also find duplicate picture files.

The program is still a work in progress, it currently successfully finds the files and filters the duplicates but currently does not delete or otherwise process the duplicates:

I was googling for a way to find and possibly delete all duplicate files on my PowerBook and stumbled upon this entry. So, is there a working version of the tool out already as the screenshots look like this tool would do exactly what I want to accomplish. Thanks Toni
