Tattoo Removal for Cory

Cory Doctorow, of boingboing fame and a longtime Apple Mac user, is switching from Mac OS X to Ubuntu Linux. He also has an Apple logo tattooed on his right bicep. I’d like to help Cory remove what will surely become a source of embarressment from his body. I’ve started a dropcash account to help fund the procedure.

If Cory decides not to accept the donation for the procedure I will find a suitable charity to donate the proceeds towards.

I’ve guesstimated, the cost to be $1000 for a single tattoo, based on information found on faqs.org, but if anyone knows how much the removal will cost in the L.A. area please let me know.

In the slight chance this campaign raises enough money but Cory refuses to part with his Apple Logo I will donate the money to a worthy charity. Suggestions welcome in comments.

I think he should keep it. It’s a reminder not an embarressment. He can look at it and remember what ideals it is he’s sticking too and he can look at it and remember that at one time the Apple computers did give him some satisfaction.
Besides, I think it’s silly to collect for him to get it removed, unless you’re doing it in a “good riddance” sort of way, and then it’s just kind of “ha ha” funny.
